The Second Temple, later known as Herod's Temple, was the reconstructed Temple
in Jerusalem and stood between c. 516 BC and 70 AD. It replaced the first
temple or better known as King Solomon's Temple and presumably in the same
location in Jerusalem. After standing for approximately 586 years, the Second
Temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire during the Roman siege of Jerusalem
in the year 70 AD.
